Ear Ringing Symptoms

Ear ringing (tinnitus) is an individual experience. It is not the type of problem that has the same effects on everyone who experiences it.

However, the one ear ringing symptom people have in common is the perception of sound where there actually isn’t any. This is where ear ringing symptoms differ. Some people hear ringing, buzzing roaring, whistling or hissing. Other tinnitus sufferers hear chirping, beating, humming, whooshing or clanging. These symptoms can be very bothersome and disruptive, especially in the workplace or at school. Constantly hearing noises inside the ears and head would distract even the most focused individual. Interruptions in concentration can ultimately have serious effects on a person’s ability to work or study, in the case of a student.

In what’s known as pulsatile tinnitus, ear ringing symptoms include rhythmic, pulsing sounds. People who suffer from this type of tinnitus find the sound is most often keeping time with their heartbeat. This happens usually when the heart’s veins and arteries are working hard to insure blood-flow.

This is not a common ear ringing symptom but there are individuals who suffer from hypertension or who have a heart murmur, a glomus tumor, abnormal veins or arteries, Eustachian tube disorder and other cardiovascular conditions that do experience pulsatile tinnitus. Quite often people who suffer from these ear ringing symptoms can be treated.

Tinnitus is a very real problem, not a figment of the individual’s imagination. If this were the case, there are millions of people in America with very active and similar imaginations. No, ear ringing symptoms are very real and cause plenty of people reasons to be irritated and challenged.
